YLDC
provides high school students “real world” academic and community
enrichment programs. Science, technology, math and art are the areas of
engagement for the high school leaders. YLDC students work together and
mentor younger students during extended day hours and Saturdays during
the school year. Organic Community Gardens, Advanced Science and Math
Tutoring, Media Project, Medical Internships and Urban Transcendence
Poetry complete the weekday initiative. YLDC Manager, Ursula Carrillo
provides evaluation data for each student through District#500 Silk
Database coordinates transportation and offers program assistance in
programming schedules and school contacts. The
Storytellers Inc. Artist Collective provides 2 transportation vans for
YLDC student transportation.
