Hip Hop has made a grand entrance into the poetry project. Nate Bogert, Mentor Specialist and "gadget guy," has added the talented students of Kidzone and Finish the Race, a Mac editing computer, Garage Band software, a Beat Machine, Internet Access and the creative imagination of storytelling to develop the newest YLDC project. Each student works on a group CD with his/her own individual track rap. The first CD's were made during the spring break session of Kidzone, Whittier Elementary School. four YLDC members co-facilitate the Hip Hop project as mentors.
