Saturday Academy is a Science and Math Academy that takes place each Saturday during the school year. A total of 120 middle and high school students participate with science, math and language arts mentor/specialists. Students spend the day from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Kansas City, Kansas Community College. Biology, Chemistry and Computer Labs are used throughout the academy. Transportation, breakfast and lunch are offered to all students, apprentices and adult faculty. A Science Fair is the culminating event to present research projects. Power Point presentations are viewed to an open community-wide event. Each academy student receives a $15 stipend per Saturday and a lab coat. Youth Leadership and Develpment Corps. students provide mentoring and team leadership to the students.
